Go Rural for Business - Blog

New Year, New Focus

8th January 2016

New Year, New Focus

2015 was quite a year for Go Rural.  There were a lot of highlights which included;

  • Promoting agritourism and rural tourism at the Royal Highland Show
  • Independent evaluation demonstrating highly effective delivery of Scotland’s first two agritourism monitor farms by Go Rural
  • Scottish Agritourism Conference  which attracted over 150 delegates and high levels speakers
  • Sheena joining Caroline in becoming a Scottish Enterprise Rural Leader

Go Rural, who have been driving the agritourism agenda in Scotland over the past three years and having made the decision to cease being a membership organisation, are now re-focusing our efforts on delivering support to a wider range of businesses.   This will be in 6 key areas;

  • Business Support
  • Project Management
  • Skills Development
  • Event Management
  • International Knowledge Exchange
  • Public Speaking

We are looking forward to this new chapter and to working with tourism, farming and food and drink businesses and to help grow Scotland’s rural economy in 2016.
